Day 2 was the day the ship docked at Nassau, but we’d already decided that we were going to stay on the ship with it being such a short cruise. We’d racked up over 15,000 steps the first day so decided to try and make this day a bit more relaxing. However, we never really came up for air again!! The characters were meeting in their regular sailing outfits this morning, and we decided to meet them first thing which worked well as lines were really short and we were able to get straight back in line after meeting one character to meet the next in the same location, essentially giving us 2-for-1 meets. And the fact that the girls outfits from the UK staycation cruises 2 years ago still fit was a bonus!

The girls then went on the Incredibles inflatable course which had a pretty long line and was quite short, but they enjoyed it. Adults can go on the course, but the hot, humid weather has taken its toll on me and my arthritis has been really painful, so I decided to sit out and Steve stayed with me (I’ll say for moral support but I think it was more to do with the fact that he hadn’t had his morning coffee yet!)

Although we’d got up early, the morning was already almost over, so we headed into Marceline Market, which is the buffet restaurant, to grab some late breakfast before it changed over to lunch. There is a huge selection of food here, and although queues were big, they did move pretty fast. The girls had hash browns and fried eggs followed by doughnuts, which is apparently their new favourite! We had actually booked Palo brunch for today, but decided to cancel as although it looks amazing there is no way I could have eaten a big meal at 12.30 and been hungry enough to eat another big meal at 5.45 with the girls in this heat, so we decided to cancel and had zero regrets. If we do another, longer cruise we may do it then, but on a 3 day cruise there is so little time that we had to prioritise.

After breakfast we went to a movie quotes quiz which was a lot of fun but really hard (although we love being at Disney, we aren’t Disney obsessed at home) but the girls did pretty well. They then decided to try out kids club for an hour. They are both at the top end of the younger kids club but wanted to do a few bits in there, so we knew they wouldn’t stay long. They ended up doing a ‘learn to draw Minnie’ class which they enjoyed, but were definitely ready ti leave after an hour. We had planned on chilling out on deck for a while, but as soon as we got out there it started to rain! It was only light though, and didn’t dilute Steve’s beer too much, so we stayed a while chatting to a crew member before collecting the girls.

We then tried some of the food on deck (there were loads of options including Mexican, pizza, burgers and barbecue) before heading inside to get changed to meet the pirate characters as it was pirate night on the ship. Again we opted for the earliest meet sessions and once again it was a good call as the queues were small.

Donald was on great form, and almost pressed his face up against the phone when we tried to take a selfie!

We also managed to meet Captain Hook and Mr Smee, although forget to take a photo of us all!

For dinner tonight, we had the Arandelle restaurant, which was another show type meal with lots of Frozen songs and characters. It was a lot of fun and we all enjoyed it, especially Olaf being pushed around on a tray!

Afterwards we went to watch the characters in a short pirate show which should have been on deck, but because of the weather was in the Great Hall. We were literally crammed in like sardines, and while I understand it was necessary, it wasn’t a lot of fun.

We should have headed to The Little Mermaid show afterwards but the girls were really tired and didn’t fancy battling another crowd, so we decided on a shorter trivia quiz instead. We were thinking that we’d go and watch the pirate party later (seeing as Steve’s costume was definitely giving off 80s soft rock vibes!) and then see the fireworks at sea, but the girls were just too tired, and we weren’t far behind, so we got cookies and milk from room service (which is included. All you need to pay is a tip) and the girls were asleep within seconds again.

We definitely felt today was easier in terms of finding our way around. Castaway Cay tomorrow which will be a nice change.
