Today we’d booked breakfast at Topolino’s so my parents could see some characters as they aren’t doing any park days this trip (well, unless Winnie works her persuasive magic!!) They haven’t been for quite a few years so we thought it would be nice for them to visit somewhere new, and we’ve always had a great time there.

We arrived a bit early but were seated straight away and soon enough we’d ordered our meals. For those who haven’t been here for breakfast, you get a selection of pastries and muffins to start and then choose one meal from the menu. You can also ask for substitutions which, in our experience, they’ve always bought as an extra side (for example, an egg with the steak dish).

The characters you meet are Mickey, Minnie and our favourites, Donald and Daisy.

All the characters were on great form, but Donald and Daisy were especially fun. Donald took the girls to find Daisy, and they then presented the girls to the whole restaurant. They also grabbed the girls during the dance they do. It was so much fun and so lovely for my mum and dad to see.

We then all went on the Skyliner to Epcot where my parents left us to catch the boat to Hollywood Studios and the bus home, and we went to the park.

The girls just wanted to do the Remy scavenger hunt today, so that was the only aim. We did say we’d stop at any point where we got too toasty (it was a hot one) and ended up watching the Canada Far as Wide show and having a drink at the Odyssey (although we didn’t brave the pickle milkshake) as a result.

We also met our favourite ducks again, just because!

The only attraction on the agenda was the Voices of Liberty who we all love, and they were so good. Their version of ‘Touch the Sky’ was truly beautiful.

Once we’d completed the hunt we decided to head back to rte hotel. As we finished at International gateway we decided to walk to Beach Club and grab an Uber as we were melting, and we were soon back and in the pool for a much needed cool down and some fun Disney quizzes. At 4, Polly decided she’d like to go to The Boathouse. There were no reservations on either the Disney app or Open-table so we quickly got ready and set off hoping they’d have a walk up. We messaged my mum and dad to say we’d meet them there, and luckily got a table straight away. The Boathouse food is really good and the setting is beautiful.

Afterwards we had planned to head back to French Quarter for beignets but the girls were flagging, so we said goodbye and set off for the bus stop. Incredibly a bus was there waiting, and we were back at the hotel within 25 minutes.
