Today was our big Epcot day, and as the girls really wanted to do Cape May breakfast, I decided to book an early time before park opening so that we were already close to the park. I also made sure to be up refreshing at 6.59am to guarantee us a spot in the virtual queue for Guardians which we love and ended up with Group 11. Now to most people they would see that as the stars aligning to make for a perfect day. Except we aren’t most people, and a family full of anxious girls means that more than one scheduled event in close succession can cause a lot of stress. We thought we’d be ok as I knew we’d be fine if we were a bit late for Guardians, especially as we had a reason to be late in the meal, but I knew the girls would still worry (they are strict rule followers!!) Their stress wasn’t helped by the Uber driver seeming to get further and further away, then when he eventually showed up nearby on the map, driving straight past our hotel and only realising miles down the road! He eventually got to us and didn’t seem to have much of a clue where he was going (so much so that Steve kept repeating where we were heading and pointing out signs for the hotel!) but we got to Beach Club just in time for our reservation.

We got seated quickly and the lovely Cast Member, Megan, who spent ages with us on our last visit, remembered us and came over to chat. Donald and Daisy came over and grabbed the girls to go and dance straight away, and then spent ages at the table with them. Donald even proposed to Polly!! We really like this meal as it is one of the less expensive character meals and is really relaxed. And the staff and characters are great. The girls even got an extra treat of an Easter cake that Donald sent over for them (via the lovely Megan) which completely made their day.

Polly, however, didn’t feel well at all and hardly ate anything. She was really pale and said her tummy felt funny. We almost took her home but she said she wanted to head into Epcot for a bit and see how she felt, so we went in, met Daisy (she must have got changed quickly from breakfast!) and got two Food & Garden trail maps while Steve set off to check whether we’d be able to do Guardians later if she felt better (which I knew we would, but needed confirmation for the girls). While he was gone, we met Mary Poppins and completed some of the trail.

As soon as Steve met back up with us and said we could definitely do Guardians later, Polly said she felt much better, so we were pretty sure it was the worry that had been the problem, so decided to carry on with the Epcot day for as long as she felt ok.

We ended up staying until 6pm! We did every ride we wanted except Spaceship Earth which we did the other day, completed the festival trail, watched Voices of Liberty as the girls and I love them and it gives Steve chance to have a beer in peace, ate at the food booths we’d missed the other day and even managed to finally visit the DVC lounge! It was such a good day and despite being ridiculously hot, we managed to dip in and out of places so didn’t feel it too much.
Before we left the girls went to collect their trail prizes which are a choice of cup or plate with 4 designs to choose from. However, the lady serving them loved their outfits so much that she gave them both, so Winnie got the Figment plate and cup, and Polly got the Orange Bird set.

We got lucky with a bus pulling up just as we got to the bus stop and arrived back at French Quarter in time to toast marshmallows.

We debated a swim but needed to wash the girls’ hair so ended up packing a few bits up and chilling out in the room for the first time this trip.
