Today the ship stopped off at Hawaii. The girls decided to head straight for the Tiki Bar (once mummy had rummaged through the red hot loft to find it and they had built it!)
They made a selection of cocktails including Hawaii Sunrise and the Tiki Delight, both of which were delicious but remarkably similar as our juice selection was rather limited until good old Mr Tesco brings the shopping onboard tomorrow!
After they’d had a few drinks they headed for the beach. The sand was lovely and soft, with only a few bits of next door’s conifer trimmings scattered around!
Daddy came home early and brought a pineapple (even though he had no idea why he’d been instructed to bring a pineapple until the girls rushed up to him shouting ‘Aloha’ and adorning him with flower garlands and sunglasses that wouldn’t fit a one year old!)
Winnie enjoyed eating it almost as much as she enjoyed pretending to be one (see photograph exhibit A! 🤷♀️)
By this time it was scorching so the girls headed for the sea. They were going to surf but I didn’t fancy a trip to A&E so instead they had a play on the inflatable log bashing game that is apparently a Hawaiian tradition (well, that’s our story and we are sticking to it!)
We rounded the night off with Hawaiian quesadillas because who doesn’t love a Mexico/ Hawaii mash up?! In reality I’d planned quesadillas but then tried to give them a Hawaii feel using a bit of pineapple (a homage to the classic Hawaiian pizza which is probably the least Hawaiian thing ever!) The girls also asked for Hawaiian pudding. They got crispy cakes with umbrellas in. A girl only has so much creativity in her!
Anyway, we are now off to attempt to cool down a bit before bed. The plan was to watch Moana but they want an early night to read (nothing to do with the Disney toy we’ve promised them if they complete the summer reading challenge, honest!!)
